National Anthem – Madeleine Burnett

Alabama Homeschooler Madeleine Burnett will be singing the National Anthem for us TodayšŸŽ¶šŸŽµ

‘Madeleine is a 14-year-old Dothan native homeschooler who discovered her passion for acting and singing about four years ago. She has performed in a variety of venues and events and has received awards at the local and national levels including first place at a competition in New York City.

Madeleine has been cast in lead roles as Annie in the Enterprise State Community College musicalĀ production and as Hellen Keller and Jasmine in Southeast Alabama Community Theaterā€™s productions of The Miracle Worker and Aladdin. Most recently she played Erzulie, the goddess of love, in the Southeast Alabama Community Theater production of Once on This Island. She has also been cast in lead roles in Southern Broadway Dinner Theater productions in Enterprise, Alabama.

Madeleine attended The Juilliard School Summer Performing Arts Camp in Switzerland in 2017. During the summers of 2018 and 2019 she completed classical voice training at the Interlochen Center for the Arts as well as two camps for movies, television and musical theater in New York City. This last summer she received a scholarship to attend the Salzburg Festival & Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra Camp in Austria.
She is thrilled and honored to be invited to participate in the Alabama Homeschool Capitol Day activities!’
